A New England Legend! Venom has graced the decks of some of the largest events in the Northern Hemisphere, and to many, is the #1 Hard House DJ/Producer in the country! DJ Venom has been playing the rave circuit since the early 90's. This veteran has gained notoriety with his superb track selection and his award winning scratching skills. He has produced over 71 underground mixtapes and CDs. His scratching skills have earned him 2nd place finishes 1994 NE Spin-off, 1st place in the 1997 Providence DJ Battle, and two 2nd place finishes at the Winter Music Conference DJ Competitions in 1998 and 1999. He was also voted 1999 DJ of the Year by the Providence Phoenix People's Choice awards. His specialty is hard house, ghetto booty house, and his own style and label: "retro-tech", a modern version of old school techno breakbeat and jungle. Venom started Volume in 94. Few put on a performance quite like Venom. He continues to break barriers, producing and playing tracks that add a new dimension to the music scene. DJ Dan Desumthn has been dedicated to the rave scene since his first party, Camp Earth, which took place at Rocky Point Park in July of 1994. That same year while at a local record shop (Fast Forward Record) , Dan met Volume Productions DJ Venom. From there, his connection to the rave scene grew, and he found himself regularly attending underground parties all around Rhode Island, including locations in Woonsocket, India Point Park, and the Olneyville section of Providence. You could find Dan at the much anticipated outlaw parties at Atlantic Mills and Space. Weekly, Dan attended Sunday school, for a night of underground house music, at club Babyhead (currently Club Hell in downtown Providence) with resident DJs Venom and Ronnie O.D.. Dan started promoting for Volume Productions in early 1996, it was from his promotional tasks that he got his DJ name Dan Desumthn. When adding Dan to guest lists, DJ Venom called promoters and (always forgetting Dan's real last name: Desorcy) would tell them Dan Desomething? would show up. The name stuck when he started DJing later that year. Dans DJ career took off when Venom gave him a small stack of records that he wasnt using. Soon after he rocked his first crowd at ENERGY, the long running Volume Productions weekly at the Living Room, in Providence (which is currently at club Energy, 69 UNION ST, Providence). In 1999-2000 he left Volume to become a promoter and DJ for Strategic Measures and Mass Productions, in Boston. Because Strategic Measures and Mass Productions retired from throwing events He moved back to Providence. Reuniting Dan with his home DJ crew Volume Productions, he quickly became one of the most respected, and dedicated DJs in the country. Dan has a wide selection of musical tastes; he spins many different types of music, speed garage, new/old school breaks, drum and bass, underground hip-hop, trip-hop, French house, disco house, and swing house. Although he can mix flawlessly in almost any genre, house is definitively the dominant sound in his collection. He proudly injects an nineteen-eighty's element in his music, allowing him to stand out from the rest. Dan has spun in countless parties and clubs all over the country. Born and raised in Washington D.C., David Rooks aka DiWrecked has held a long symbiotic relationship with electronic music and lifestyle. His first experience with underground dance music came at a warehouse party during a student exchange trip to Russia in the mid 1990s. This experience embedded itself into his stream of conciousness, helping to create a desire for a new medium. He brought this desire back to the States, and in 1996 DiWrecked made a decision to become a DJ. Within a year, DiWrecked had bought his first pair of 1200s and began to refine his personal style behind the decks. Determined to become the best, DiWrecked taught himself everything he needed to create a solid foundation on which to build his career. After spending his entire life in the Washington D.C. area, DiWrecked found himself looking for a change of pace, and in 2003 he moved to Massachusetts to settle down and plan out his career goals. Since his migration to the Northeast, DiWrecked has been striving to become a positive driving force in the New England scene. He brought with him a passion for EDM and its culture, looking for any way to support its cause. DiWrecked is the Founder and Frontman for Beatdown Productions, a crew originating from a close circle of friends in the Washington DC area in 2000. Since then, the crew has spread out and grown in numbers, now with members in MA, CT, NY, MD, and DC. With the ongoing support of his crew, he has helped to support, promote, and throw several events on the East Coast and beyond. In December of 2005, Beatdown Productions collaborated on the newest electronic weekly event in Springfield MA, known as Movement of Sound. Putting his experience to good use, DiWrecked took charge of the booking for MoS, bringing him in direct contact with many of those reponsible for creating and maintaining the Springfield scene's structure. He has recently taken on all administration for the Movement of Sound events, and is looking to expand the night to new heights. Since moving to Mass, DiWrecked has taken the Northeast by storm. With over 50 live performances in the last year, incuding various radio performances and shows in some of the best venues New England has to offer, DiWrecked continues to leave his mark.
